The idea of creating this innovative design came to its authors because of innovative materials available on the market, precisely the new polyurethane foaming techniques, allowing to create shapes that will hold, with no need for internal supports. The only element to “hold it up”, and at the same time sign distinctively the design with uniqueness, was the metal structure that is embracing the structure from upside up. It was the right moment in the industry to re-write the history of upholstered items, in search of new designs, challenging imagination, and offering a new lifestyle balanced between formal and informal.

Today, the internal padding is made of BioFoam® microspheres of plant origin, a diligent choice made by Cassina LAB Project to promote wellbeing and sustainable design. Moreover, the sitting is proposed, besides the classical blown polyester fiber, in a version that is using 100% recycled blown fiber produced from PET recovered from Plastic Bank®.

The base is upholstered with buttons and plastic fasteners, small feet and wheels in plastic and steel. Clamps are made in steel and powder-coated steel proposed in a few colors (Glossy China Red, Glossy Emerald Green, and Glossy White), while the upholstery is made in a selection of fabrics and leathers from the Cassina Collection.

Today we can choose to have Soriana in different sizes, a 2-seats and 3-seats sofas, an armchair, a chiase-longue and a pouf. You can see all technical sizes here below, and directly on the website of the producer company, www.cassina.com .

It is a remarkable design, unique in style, and highly comfortable! A true masterpiece we can enjoy today in our own house.
