Any idea how to decorate your home for this Christmas 2020?

I will share some thoughts on this matter. This year’s Christmas will be quite different since in many countries is the obligation to keep social distancing and are not allowed any big parties, making this year quite different from what we are used to. Nevertheless, there is still hope to feel great and happy celebrating by ourselves at home.

Here are some thoughts I wish to share with you:

1/ something TRADITIONAL

We can decorate a Christmas tree as the tradition requires, or we could buy a natural Christmas Star plant, smaller or bigger, to bring in the Christmas spirit. Add some perfumed candles, maybe decorated with some dried orange and cinnamon to warm up the atmosphere. Moreover, prepare the table using a traditional set of ceramic plates on the Christmas theme.

2/ something NEW

To refresh the atmosphere of your home, bring something new, unique, and eccentric. It is up to you what it should be: a decorative object, a new sofa, a particular chandelier with lots of light, or something else. Me, for example, I acquired two new table lamps in colorful ceramics with white shades for our bedroom. Another very useful item for this cold period of the year would be a new plaid or a carpet in wool to keep you warm and cozy. Or it could be some simple objects like a beautiful set of coffee or tea mugs.

3/ something NATURAL

A very present trend of this year in decorations and fashion in naturality, moving towards natural materials and colors:

-         natural fabrics like wool, cotton, and linen

-         natural materials like stone, marbles, and granites (and their agglomerates)

-         neutral and achromatic colors

It is a macro-trend of the last years, and due to the current social and economic situation worldwide, this trend will stay with us for a long time.

4/ something INSTAGRAMMABLE

We will make wishes through FaceTime, Zoom, WhatsApp, or another social platform. So, create a well enlightened and beautiful corner, maybe near the fireplace, or get a small space in your bedroom or living room. You could position here a stool or an armchair, a beautiful plant, or near the Christmas tree, add some colorful decorative pieces for a great scenic background to take pictures and make video conversations.

It will not be the same as being with your dears together, but it will bring you closer to them and create a warmer atmosphere in your house. Concerning the social distancing regulations, stay home, and stay safe, be healthy, and be happy. Life is only one! Let us respect and joy, living it to the fullest every single day no matter what!
