B&B ITALIA was founded in 1966 by Piero Ambrogio Busnelli. It became one of the leading Italian companies in the international world of designer furniture for home and public places such as hotels, restaurants, and shops.

The company is based in Novedrate (Como), north of Milan. It is distinguished by an innovative industrial approach in manufacturing furniture using prime quality materials and exquisite modern design. It creates collections in collaboration with famous architects of international recognition as Antonio Citterio, Gaetano Pesce, Patricia Urquiola, Jean-Marie Massaud, Naoto Fukasawa, Nipa Doshi & Jonathan Levien, Vincent Van Duysen, and other. B&B Italia is rewarded with numerous prestigious awards, including no less than 4 Compasso D‘Oro prizes, the most prestigious honor in the field of industrial design.

Looking at the current collections 2019-2020, we will find many exquisite design pieces, creations of famous architects and designers, that we can acquire for our homes today. These articles are not only made of high-quality materials and have the guarantee and certification 100% Made in Italy, but as other DESIGN OBJECTS hold their value over time. It may be considered as Hermes bags - investment pieces that will keep their market value over time.

Here is a small selection of five of my favorite items from the 2019-2020 COLLECTION that can find their place in a modern and sophisticated interior as much as in a classical villa or a century-historical hotel. Find out in details what about every single piece:

1. Chaise-longue TERMINAL 1 by Jean-Marie Massaud (2008)

The author is a well-known French designer and architect, Jean-Marie Massaud. He collaborated with big names in the fields of design and fashion, such as Poltrona Frau, B&B Italia, Lancôme, Dior (to name a few), and twice was named DESIGNER OF THE YEAR, in 2007 and 2009, at Salon Maison and Object Paris – an international fair for home design objects.

His creation Terminal 1 has a linear and minimalistic look, perfectly suited for a lounge room and living room or waiting area. The structure is made of rigid polyurethane foam molded in a unique block and lately upholstered in natural leather anthracite GM141 and white GM117. The base is in tubular steel varnished correspondently in anthracite (dark grey) or white. This choice of finish guarantees a clean, modern, and unicolor piece of furniture, where the focal point is focused on its unique soft curved forms, making it the first pick for many design lovers.
