Our days the marketplace is offering a large variety of lipsticks in stick or liquid formula. The majority of them are great in terms of long-wearing, color payoff, smoothness. Every company creates in their labs a formula for their products and it’s up to them what ingredients to put in and in what concentration. Of course, as a regulation states in every country, each product must be tested before putting on the market for sales to consumers.
Therefore, I tend to read on each product the list of ingredients before buying something. First, because I want to be sure that I get the best for the money I spend (cosmetics are not cheap); To be honest, I apply this rule to everything I buy, from products in the grocery to clothes, shoes, furniture, etc. Second, because I want to know what I am going to put on my lips: what ingredients are in, in what concentration, which will give benefit (like natural oils, etc) and which are harmful in the long run (like PEG compounds, Butylated compounds, Parabens, Formaldehyde, Phthalates, etc). Since it is mandatory by the law to always inform the customers and list the ingredients, it is easy to get this information just by reading the etiquette. You shall also know, that the first in order is listed ingredient with a bigger concentration and least in the row are the ingredients with less concentration.
This is the reason I’ve highly appreciated and love these lipsticks from Burt’s Bees! It's a brand that has at its core value the use of natural ingredients. However, not all of their products have 100% natural ingredients so take my advice from above and read the etiquette before buying, just to be sure you’re getting the product that’s best for you! There are GLOSSY LIPSTICKS (I have 2 shades Blush Ripple and Peony Dew) and SATIN LIPSTICKS (I have the shade Sunset Cruise) that are made of 100% natural ingredients. I also appreciated their TINTED LIP BALMS. Currently, I have the shade called Red Dahlia.
Must say all these products are highly hydrating, very moisturizing, soft on the lips and sheer as finishing (I would describe more like medium to low color payoff, even in darkest shades). But for those who love a beautiful lip tint as “my lips but better” and give moisture and fresh healthy look in summer hot days or winter freeze – these products are amazing! You’ll love them!
Moreover, all their products are made with NO petrochemicals, phthalates, parabens or sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), which is so great! And are NOT tested on animals which means they’re cruelty-free. Look for all their products and the list of ingredients on their official website: www.burtsbees.co.uk.
At last, I would recommend in summer hot days (when the temperature gets over +30°С/+86°F) to keep these lipsticks in the fridge to avoid melting or breaking (it happened to one of mine).
What natural cosmetics brand do you love and use? Let me know in the comment section below, I would love to upgrade my lipstick collection and find some new products to try on.
