“Servomuto” is an appropriate name for this coffee table designed by Achille Castiglioni in 1974. Made with a base in polypropylene, a steel rod, and a top in multilayered laminate or in rigid polyurethane, this light small table guarantees to be highly functional and still keep an elegant and simple aesthetics.

It requires just a few elements to construct it, and this makes it very affordable and perfect for many commercial and private spaces. The steel rod is extendable and can serve as support, plus it gives an ergonomic grip to make it easily movable. SERVOMUTO is the third design by Castiglioni from the series of objects “I Servi” created of the same type of base and identical elements.

Originally this series was produced by the Italian lighting company FLOS. Still, in 1975 the furniture producer ZANOTTA bought the rights for this design and invited Castiglioni to enlarge the collection by adding new elements. This small table with top in multilayered laminate is available in black/white, amaranth/grey, and cooked/light blue, following by other 12 objects. All these products are still in production, made until today by Zanotta.
