10 Best Flowers for Weddings in Wintertime

Winter is a time of fairytales and spectacular white landings, especially if the location is somewhere in the mountains! We can gather at cozy fireplaces, listen to beautiful relaxing music, drink hot chocolates and great cocktails, depending on preferences. We are all waiting for one of the best times of the year, a time for a family gathering – the Christmas time

Many weddings are celebrated in fact at this time of the year: in late December and beginning of January, closer to Christmas – a time for family and friends. So, what flower compositions are best to choose for this time of the year? I selected 10 unusually beautiful flowers to consider for a WEDDING IN WINTERTIME:

1. Camellia – native to eastern Asia. There are about 250 species in total, offering a large palette of colors, from white to yellow, pink-red and purple. It represents desire, passion, admiration, and perfection. It also symbolizes longevity.

2. Cyclamen - native to Europe, particularly to the Mediterranean area. Their flowers come in several colors like white, red, rose, purple, and pink. It symbolizes tenderness, sincerity, and lasting feelings.

3. Bergenia - native to Central Asia. This plant comes in shades of red, pink, purple, and white. Bergenia form clumps of large leaves and clusters of small bell-shaped flowers.

4. Dietes - native to southern and central Africa. Flowers are white to creamy, with brown, yellow and purple markings on the petals. It is a symbol of good fortune.

5. Kalanchoe - native to Madagascar. This plant comes in a variety of colors, including orange, pink, red, white. It symbolizes endurance and lasting affection, but also wealth and prosperity.

6. Protea – it comes in about 50 species and grows in regions of the southern hemisphere where conditions are particularly dry. Its flowers are large, exotic and fascinating. It comes in shades of white, purple, red, orange, yellow, and green. Protea represents ingenuity, diversity, transformation, and courage.

7. Rhododendron - native to Asia, Europe, North America, and Northern Australia. It blooms in various colors, white, red, orange, pink, gold, purple and other shades. It is a symbol of temptation, caution, and danger.

8. Zygopetalum - native to South America. The plant produces unique, exotically patterned and dramatically colored blooms, has unusually colored flowers in shades of blue, purple, red and white. It symbolizes fertility and spiritual connection between people.

9. Rondeletia – in about 150 species, native to Central America. Its flowers are white, yellow, pink, and red. It symbolizes endurance.

10. Poinsettias (Christmas Star) – originated from Mexico. Their flowers come in several colors: red, orange, green, cream, white. However, mostly it is associated with Christmas.
