Lifestyle Classes > 10 Reasons to love ORANGE

ORANGE is the color obtained from mixing red and yellow. Every shade/tint of this color depends on the proportion of the two main colors, adding more white or black to the mixture.

Until the 15th century, orange color was used in Europe, but without the name; it was simply called yellow-red. Portuguese merchants brought the first orange trees from Asia in the late 15th and early 16th century, along with the name Sanskrit naranga, which gradually became part of several European languages: naranja in Spanish, laranja in Portuguese, and orange in English. Therefore, comes the origin of the name ORANGE.

However, oranges (the plant itself and its cultivation) became popular in northern Europe only in the 17th century because of the invention creating heated greenhouse for plants, a construction type known today as an “orangerie”.

The playful character of the Castiglioni brothers is remarkably evident through their work, and some design pieces particularly express their love for experimenting with shapes and using their imagination skills with reflecting or creating personages.

The Castiglioni brothers often created designs that challenged our perspective, and the table lamp Taccia, which gives the illusion of an upside-down hanging lamp, is an inspired example of that.

Interior Design > FLOU - The Culture of Good Sleeping

When we say “the culture of glass” we think of FIAM ITALIA, when we say “the culture of plastic” we think of KARTELL, when we say “the culture of modern sofas” we think of B&B ITALIA, but when we say “the culture of good sleeping” we inevitably think of FLOU.

The Italian producer FLOU, who introduced the concept of uniting great design and good sleeping, was founded by Rosario Messina (and his partners) in 1978 at Meda, a city on the North of Milan, a company which he will own entirely, with the purpose to create beds of elevated comfortability, quality, and unique design style.

Hello everyone!

Today is the day I share a small selection of design objects to inspire your Home Décor Styles! It is a series I write every week on my blog, and soon I will start doing the same on my YouTube channels (with a longer list and additional technical information, which is easier to explain by telling, then by writing).

In the meantime, today I selected creative design items for home made by the Italian producer company CATTELAN ITALIA. This choice was based on specific criteria: to give your pieces of design that are unique in shape or/and surfaces, modern and sophisticated, made 100% in Italy, of high-quality materials and at a reasonable price-point. Indeed, the Italian brand CATTELAN ITALIA is knows to be among the brands that offer good quality furnishings and lighting objects, all designed by artists and design studios, that are proposed to the public at an accessible price.

Fashion Inspiration > The French Riviera Style

Hello Gorgeous Ladies,

Most of us must wear business attire every day of the week at the working place, no matter what we do for a living and where we work. But on weekends we desire to relax and spend our free time in joy, doing what we love the most. To feel this change of atmosphere and relief ourselves from the working stress and routine, we usually do some activities outdoors, wearing something that makes us feel free, comfortable, and stylish at the same time.

If you live in a city, you probably observed many times women wearing casual styles mainly because of the comfortability in silhouettes and garments with a prevailing percentage of neutral tones that can be easily matched to create a major number of different outfits. However, the risk of wearing only BASIC ITEMS IN NEUTRAL COLORS is that it may look boring and sometimes lack personality.

So, how can we create a basic wardrobe for the weekends that will always be comfortable, require minimum pieces but easily mixed and matched, and at the same time look stylish and express our individuality? Well, I might have just the right solution - THE FRENCH RIVIERA STYLE!

Interior Design > Palms Paradise - color scheme

Palms are exotic plants, always green, which give a luxurious appeal to the ambient. They will be the focal point in our color scheme today.

The luxurious atmosphere of a green paradise can be achieved in different ways and styles, and today I invite you to see together three distinctive variants to achieve it:

1/ in NEUTRAL TONES of whites – one will have a minimalistic vibe in Scandinavian style, with white walls, light flooring, and some accents in warm terracotta and green colors; another will have a more contemporary style with walls always white, covered with boiserie, and an intense presence of green and granite.

2/ in WARM TONES of green, honey accents and reddish woods, like cherry and palissander.

3/ in COLD TONES of blue, withstood by shades of grey and dark woods, like oak tint wengé and black ebony, intensified by accents of bright yellow and intense deep reds.
